My Path to Health
Like me, you may have found yourself incredibly frustrated with all the contradictory advice on what to eat to be healthy. That’s certainly how it’s felt for me and, maybe, you too. At times, I wondered if it really had to be so frustrating and confusing. Surely there must be an easier way to eat and live that can help me feel good, especially since, in my case, what I was eating was causing me to feel sick, really sick. Click here to learn more
“My Story”.
I was careful about what I was eating (or so I thought), exercising, and consciously trying to do the things that were supposed to be good for me. The diet I faithfully maintained consisted of what the experts were telling me were the right foods to eat. But, since each of us is unique, what I came to discover is that when it comes to food, sometimes we think we’re eating what’s good for us but we’re really not. To look at me, you might have thought I was healthy, but I was far from it. Little did I know at the time, the negative effects foods were having on my body.
The very things I was eating that were supposed to be good for me were triggers that promoted inflammation and suppressed my immune system. So, as my mother and grandmother taught me to do, I went looking for answers to help myself feel better. I began to question “conventional wisdom” recommendations about what I was eating. I became a walking personal experiment in pursuit of my goal of becoming truly healthy.
I began the process of moving toward better health by eliminating things from my diet that I thought could potentially be bothering me. I was amazed at the difference. Within weeks I started to feel better, stronger, have more energy and feel less bloated. As I discovered more of the things that made me feel better, it turned out that they were the more natural, whole foods our ancestors ate that brought back health and vitality to my body. Eating this way was so easy to do and it made me feel great.
I had found a simple, healthy approach to food and eating
with lots of room for flexibility and personal preferences.
